To Google or Not

For anyone selling stuff on the Internet, not a day passes by without being frustrated and angry with Google or for that matter any search engine. I was happy in those days when we just had AltaVista/Yahoo as search engines and even with Google (just as a search engine). After years of hard work, the search engine giants have decided unanimously to create a confusing maze of links some paid and some unpaid (organic). Search engine marketing is a domain that is creating the buzz and drawing so much frustration for users like me. I do not want to click on the sponsored ads or I cannot think of clicking those tiny links on a Website which hardly seems to be relevant to the content I am looking for. After days of trying to create an effective adwords campaign, all I am left with is hundreds of keywords and too many ad variations - none of them being displayed on the Google search network just because I can only pay 0.25 cents per click whereas someone else can pay $10 for a click. Are these people crazy? Imagine the plight of Progressive.com who pay around $15 per click and one sick surfer or groups of them click those paid links 100 or even thousand times. Yea, they can survive. I pay them thousands in auto insurance premiums!!!

My instinct strongly urges me not to Google or Yahoo...I can just survive without the thousands of crazy links all over the Internet.
